What is the Winter Series?

The Nacra Winter Series is a 5 month training club for all classes of Nacra. You can utilise all the facilities and sail through winter however it fits with your schedule, as it is only a 2hr (flight) commute from most major European Airports. Full safety cover and event management is provided by Provela which is open 7 days a week. We will organise everything from the safety to courses for practice to race events. Nacra will assist sailors with transportation* of boats from set locations around Europe to the Mar Menor.

*supplement and subject to availability

The Location

The winter series will be based at Provela, which is in Mar De Cristal on the Mar Menor, Spain. The Mar Menor is 170km2 of salt water lagoon and Provela's centre is surrounded by the Mediterranean. This creates a micro climate and some of the best sailing wind statistics in Europe. With an average wind speed of 12 knots and temperature of 19 degree’s, this makes the Mar Menor the perfect playground for Nacra Sailing.

The Format

Sailor lead, so the sailors decide the daily plan and courses each day. Provela will then provide safety cover and course laying whenever you are sailing. Race officers will be available at weekends, although the team will provide a practice race setting and starting procedure if requested. Whilst Nacra will be supplying guest coaches every second weekend of the month.
